Copied verbatim from the paper on which she originally wrote it (after I told her I wasn't going to sit there and spell a bunch of words for her, which is what she prefers. She's a perfectionist).

Keep in mind she's not yet five-and-a-half.

red the cat

on spon a time ther wuz a cat and hr name is red and she had a noo car She wuz so happy

The Een

be Madalyn be JZ ("be" = by. She and JZ were the "illustrators" as she told me.)

Apparently the lack of vehicle has started to get to her, too. Both stories she wrote with the help of my mom yesterday also dealt with the main character getting a new car.

I freak when I see the things my daughter can do nowadays. She's been writing sentences too and it just floors me! Seems like just yesterday I was changing her diapers!

She's quite a girl! She's sounding things out wonderfully!! I especially like the capital S on she for the new sentence! :D
Good job, Madalyn!
