I just remembered a show that I left off my list by accident: Northern Exposure. I heart that show very, very much.

Carry on.

Monday, July 17

#168: Make being creepy a jailable offense. Offenders will be incarcerated for a short time while going through a Creepiness Detoxification and Reprogramming course. They will then be sent to build homes for the poor until the hard labor has caused every remaining droplet of creepiness to ooze out of them and normal people no longer involuntarily shudder when coming into contact with the perpetrator.

First to be jailed will be the duo who sang the song "In the Year 2525", followed immediately by Christopher Walken, everyone on that kids' show "Lazytown" and whomever is responsible for those baby Bratz dolls.

I'm also considering making being inexcusably greasy a misdemeanor. The program's inaugral ticket will be handed out to Colin Farrell.

(First off: Lookie, lookie; my Timewasters have been update. Click and enjoy - left-hand column, midway down)

For my own personal amusement I will now list my all-time favorite t.v. shows, past and present. These are in no particular order (except the first one, which is in the number one spot for a reason). I don't even necessarily watch these shows these days. My viewing of them comes and goes. I'll watch the reruns religiously for months or years and then quit and not see the show again for eons. Some of these aren't even being shown on any channels currently. But, given the opportunity, I always come back to them.

To make the list the show has to be an enduring favorite. There are plenty of shows that I currently watch and look forward to that aren't on this list. The clincher, for me, has to be whether I would watch episodes of this show more than a couple times. Would I seek it out, either in reruns or on DVD? And does it give me a warm, cozy feeling to settle down to watch? Here's what does:

Okay, so, the entry-a-day thing? Yeah, totally forgot about it.

In my defense, though, Jennifer is in Tulsa for job training. So between being on the phone with her and then dashing up last night for an impromptu visit I've had other things on my mind.

Or something.

Anyway, on with the show.

Thursday, July 13

Wow, I just went ahead and dropped right off the face of the earth, there, didn't I?

Well, I have been attempting (strictly out of necessity) to go to bed earlier recently, and it's already 11 p.m. So "real" entries will have to wait just a bit longer.

As penance for my slackage I am vowing, right here and now, to write at least one new entry per day for the next seven (7) days. You all are my witnesses.

Check back soon.

Madalyn and I are off to see Ringo! See you all on the other side! Wheeeee!

"In the town where I was born lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life in the land of submarines
So we sailed up to the sun till we found the sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves in our yellow submarine......."

GUESS who I am going to see on Monday night?

RINGO!

And GUESS where I am sitting?

THIRD ROW, BABY!!!

When I first heard Ringo was touring with his All-Starr Band again I looked up the dates and he wasn't scheduled to come anywhere near here. Then I kept forgetting to check and see if any cities had been added. It just occurred to me a few days ago to check and, lo and behold, he's coming to Dallas -- on the 3rd!

A frantic search of eBay turned up two third-row tickets with a low starting bid. The price did go up a little but they were still extremely reasonable. Madalyn is going to go with me. We'll head down Monday afternoon and stay over since the concert won't be over till late.

I am so excited! I'm not sure what to expect, having never seen Ringo before. And I can't believe we will be sitting in the third row. Unreal. Madalyn was excited when I told her but I'm not sure if she'll really grasp what she's seeing or whether she'll mentally lump him in with the impersonators she's seen.

I so wish I'd gotten a chance to see John and George, as well. I'm so pleased I get to see Ringo, though, and that I get to take Madalyn! I only hope that Paul tours again so she can see him too.
