A doctor just appeared on a story on the local (Oklahoma City) news and said, and I quote, "Some of the stigmata has been removed about having weight loss surgery."

I didn't realize having your stomach stapled was ever a religious experience.

(And this guy has a Ph.D.??)

Hee is right. And not to worry, he probably has a lesser degree than a Ph.D., like and M.D. ;-) Yikes!
