I love bags. I may have mentioned that before. It's a weakness. Fortunately I am not picky about brand names or designers. I do love to shop for new purses and bags but I'm perfectly happy to do it at Target or Kohl's or JC Penney. I've never even looked at Coach or Fendi bags. Not that I would be opposed to spending the money on one if I adored it; I just don't tend to shop at places that sell them. As long as it's pretty, fun or functional, I'm all over it, even if it's being sold at the local drugstore.
Every trip to California presents an opportunity for purse-shopping. This most recent one was no exception. And not only did I find some cute bags, I got fabby deals. What's better than cute purses? Cheap cute purses.
Bag #1:
Eliza is no longer in need of a giant diaper bag. At this age, all we really need for her is something to carry a few extra diapers, a travel-sized wipes package, some disposable bibs and an extra pacifier. I was looking around for something fun for her stuff and I stumbled across this bag at Borders, of all places. I love the print for a kids' bag and it's got a wipe-clean surface, which is a big bonus for baby-related paraphernalia.

Bag #2:
Before I bought bag #1 I found the following bag, marked down, at Target. It was going to be the Eliza bag until I found the one above that worked better. When we got home I started carrying this as a purse and I kind of love it. In fact, I keep wanting to ask my mom to go back up there and check if they have any more in other prints so she can grab another one for me.

Bag #3:
Another Target bag. I love the crochet look. This purse was originally priced at $30 and I got it for $5.87.

Bag #4:
My final purchase; Target, yet again. I forget the exact numbers but this was something along the lines of $38 originally. I paid less than $10. It's rather huge, but that's my preference. I like being able to fit water bottles, books, cinder blocks, half my wardrobe and the occasional midget in my handbag. You know...for emergencies.

Normally I'd quit looking, at least for a few months, but I've already spotted two more at a local store which I feel I simply can't live without. Robert has been put on notice and hopefully I will go get them this weekend. Then I'll stop for the remainder of the year. Well, except for maybe a few Beatles bags for birthday and Christmas presents. But that's all. I swear.

Good heavens, Mary! How do you use that many? Do you move your stuff around between all of them?
I only have one purse, and I can't imagine having to keep switching all my stuff all the time. I'd end up forgetting things, I think. lol

I love your prose! Cracks me up. And that Borders bag rocks my socks! I have a 20 month old and that would be a perfect diaper bag replacement for us, too.

I've stopped my obsessive bag buying because I was running out of places to put them -- finally went back to my plain black leather Coach bag and stashed the rest. I love your choices though -- the first one especially.
