Glad you had a good time.

On the panhandler topic, my own, personal opinion (which I am, of course, entitled to) is: the worst thing you can do for a panhandler is give them money. It's entirely possible their "occupation" or mission in life is: to panhandle. Nothing more. Giving them $ is perpetuating a cycle they won't try to get out of.

I of course no nothing about such situations, but if you don't try to change your course, you won't. Maybe it sounds simplistic and harsh, but how do you go about bettering yourself if you sit against a wall all day and don't even try?

It's not up to me to judge. I help out my fellow human beings when I can and hope that, if I need help someday, someone will do the same for me.

I agree with your sentiments about helping those in need. It's those who are supposedly in need or "professionally" in need I call into question. I donate to charities, not huge amounts, maybe not as often as I should. It just seems to me that offering this type of assistance to those asking may, in some way(s), not be doing the good it should or the good we intend.
